- Trafficking victims are generally recruited by someone they know. In 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received more than 18,4000 reports of possible child sex trafficking.
- 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men experience sexual violence, physical violence and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime with 'IPV (Intimate partner violence)-related impact' such as being concerned for their safety, PTSD symptoms, injury, or needing victim services.
- 1 in 5 women and 1 in 40 men in the United States are victims of rape or attempted rape during their lifetime.
- Sexual violence on campus is pervasive 13% of all students experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation (among all graduate and undergraduate students).
- In 2021, out of the 50,000 reports, 10,359 situations of human trafficking involving 16,554 individuals were identified by the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
